Intersex Mag -- a new eZine promoting sexual diversity
Here is one apparently carefully thought-out definition of 'intersex' from intersexmag.com:
‘Intersex’ generally refers to people born with a biological disorder involving the sex organs/chromosomes/hormones; but I use it here in a much broader sense to refer to hermaphrodites, transsexuals, shemales, transvestites, cross-dressers, trannies, gender-benders, ‘butches’,‘queers’, and many others who with their physical appearance, behavior, or dress defy traditional notions of ‘male’ and ‘female’. I have done this because I believe these people are also born to some extent with their condition, and that ultimately they represent biological variations of the traditionally recognized ‘intersex’ phenomenon. As a transsexual, I believe it is by recognizing this similarity and all joining together that we can most quickly and effectively reach our common goal of promoting basic human rights for sexually diverse individuals.
